New Era College’s (NEC) 10 Year Anniversary Celebration, observed in July 2019, marked a decade of advancing STEM training in Botswana. Over the last decade, New Era College has been at the forefront of training in engineering and technology, and actively participated in supporting Botswana’s agenda for education in STEM.
These efforts included participation in events such as 2018’s COMSTEDA 16, Botswana Innovation Hub’s 2019 Innovation Botswana and the 2019 Botswana Communications Regulatory Authority (BOCRA) Broadcasting Conference.
As a build up to the 10 Year Anniversary celebrations, NEC staff participated in team building activities. The College also launched the Ghodrati Foundation Scholarship to aid youth in need of financial assistance to pursue STEM qualifications.
NEC aims to continue the arc of its formative years by focusing on driving progress in STEM education and innovation in Botswana over the coming decade. One key aspect of this goal will be achieved through NEC’s EdgeFX STEM Kits pre-engineering training, which was launched in 2017.
New Era College is committed to encouraging innovative, self-sufficient and enterprising future generations through practical DIY-based STEM training. The long-term goal is to ensure that every student in Botswana will have the opportunity to learn and explore with the STEM education programme and develop an acute comprehension in STEM.
